In December 2017, I embarked on an artist’s residency at Borana game conservancy in Laikipia, Northern Kenya. Drawing the animals from life, in their natural habitat, I hoped to capture something of the wild encounter and to convey a direct and dramatic perspective on a reality that is fast perishing around Africa.
Since then I have continued to work on a series of large scale black and white drawings in my studio in London and am pleased to be able to now invite you to the Private View of ‘On The Line‘. This exhibition of more than 40 artworks is the culmination of this year-long process and references the precarious nature of the wild game in east Africa as well as my preoccupation with the possibilities of line drawing.
Proceeds from any work sold will go directly towards conservation efforts on the ground at Borana.
The gallery will open at 6pm on 15th November and the Exhibition runs until the 18th November at NoHo Studios, London. I look forward to seeing you there.
Note: All the works will go live for sale (online only), at midday, the day before the exhibition.
